K1Logic is an independent consultancy built on 15 years of end-to-end automotive software engineering. We started at the ECU level, where raw sensor data meets real-time decisions with direct physical consequences, and worked our way up into the cloud. From early BMW telematics and infotainment systems to steering VW's Premium Platform Electric (PPE) through SOP, we have been part of some of the biggest platform shifts in the industry. Today we combine that systems-level expertise with modern AI to build solutions that fit the physical realities of vehicle engineering.
Why K1Logic Exists
After more than a decade inside automotive development, across two of Europe's largest OEM groups, we saw the same pattern repeat:
- Highly skilled engineers buried in manual work.
- Validation through disconnected scripts.
- Root-cause investigations that took weeks.
- Requirements and test automation held together by tribal knowledge.
When AI opened up new possibilities in 2023, the potential was obvious immediately. So were the barriers. Cloud-only solutions collided with TISAX, GDPR, and IP protection. Generic consultancies lacked the domain depth. And the engineers who stood to benefit most were left waiting on IT approvals that arrived too late to matter.
That is why K1Logic was founded in Munich, at the heart of the German automotive industry. To bring AI into automotive engineering in a way that works: built by people who understand the vehicle, deployed on your infrastructure, owned by your teams. European and independent, built to last.
Our Background
Our roots are in vehicle engineering: inside the vehicle architecture and out on the road.
From Bare Metal to Cloud Architecture and Series Delivery
We have led platform architectures from the ground up, which means we understand the full journey of a data point from a physical sensor, through the bus system, into the backend. At BMW and VW Group we steered Software Defined Vehicle systems end-to-end through SOP, across seven premium brands. We know how hardware behaves under real-world conditions and how physical anomalies show up in trace logs. That is what tells us which applications of AI to automotive data are technically viable — and which are just noise.
Safety-Critical Systems and Physical Realities
Working on safety-critical systems like Connected Crash Detection and AR Head-Up Displays taught us that data always represents physical reality. We validated Connected Driver Assistance Systems and prototyped infotainment and connectivity for BMW Motorrad. Every one of those systems shipped under hard constraints: fluctuating network coverage, hardware latencies, automotive-grade safety requirements. Failure was not an option.
Engineering Transformation and Team Enablement
We designed and built automated simulation and validation platforms from scratch, starting with broadcast module testing under dynamic reception conditions at BMW and growing into end-to-end process optimization at CARIAD. When we set up data science capabilities inside OEM engineering teams and trained engineers internationally in test orchestration, it was always about the same gap: connecting advanced analytics to the physical realities of vehicle engineering. What we left behind each time was a team that could carry the systems forward on its own.
We have sat in the SOP task forces and fought through the last integration bottlenecks. We know the technical realities and the processes. We know the pressure of getting a vehicle on the road.
